This title is a tribute to a former tv show which was famous in the 90s in France for talking about the night life in Paris. We could translate it by “Black glasses for White night” and fits perfectly for this article :
On Saturday September 10th I had a great time performing with Fiiix and Laurent Dathie at the Spikeru Koncertzale in Riga for the latvian white night called Balta Nakts.
We were wearing these special Nunettes glasses made in France and I do believe they had much success as even the National TV integrated some images from our show in the National news the day after !
For one night the amazing venue was transformed into a night club for this “Nuit Blanche – French Electro Night” event and I had the pleasure to animate live my home made videos on a 8 meters large screen in front of some 2500 people who attended this party.
I was performing on stage with the Djs and the video projectors were at the same time used as spotlights on the rythm of my videos… such an interactive and precise combination !
We also had an interview on TV5 Latvia which was translated in Russian in the National News and they also recorded some of the videos I prepared with After Effects for the event !
Then 2 radio interviews were waiting for us :1st was Radio Naba for the Show “French Connection.lv” animated by Marika Kozla at 19h30 on thursday September 8th and 2nd was on Radio 101for an interview by Toms Grēviņš at 21h30 on Friday 9th.We already got a lot of positive feedback since, probably because we managed to make the people dance for almost 8 hours… it was a great show !
Also I have to state that all the video installation was based on a single laptop !!! My brand new G74Sx from Asus made the job and the additional video card from Matrox allowed me to animate 3 screens at the same time ! ( the background screen was in fact 2 screens linked + on the other side a HD TV. ) I had indeed my wireless wiimote controler to animated the Vj software while I was dancing next to the Dj !
Latvijas Koncerti organised perfectly this event and the technical setup. It’s really relaxing to just need to plug your latop and ask for what kind of device you want and where you want them to install it ! Usually I do it by myself but such a big screen installation requires additional technicians and I’m always happy to work with professionals like them !
They also filmed all night long and I have few hours of rush to edit now for a short documentary about our travel in Latvia.

I have to admit that I did have to act as a flying stuntman and it was sometimes weird to edit videos of myself but I am quite proud of the result !
